About Meagan:
Meagan Myhren-Bennett is a pen name that I developed to honor both sides of my family. My love of words began at an early age – starting with bedtime stories read nightly. My favorite book was That’s My Puppy. I loved how there was a black-and-tan Dachshund just like my Dachshund.
I first started writing, with dreams of being published, when I was in fourth grade. I often remark that that rare one copy edition was lost in one of my family’s moves. I’ve lived in California, Florida, Illinois, and Wisconsin. I’ve experienced earthquakes, hurricane near misses, floods, droughts, and blizzards.
I love Dachshunds! They have such challenging but loyal personalities. I live with seventeen. Technically, it is sixteen and a half Dachshunds and half a Basset Hound.

When not writing, I have a day job, working in my local small town library. I also say I make the books pretty. My official job description is Acquisitions, Cataloging, and Technical Services. I place the orders. I input the data. I verify the orders. Then I fix the books up so that they can be checked out.
Creating with my hands helps me think out scenes. I love making broom lace, which involves knitting needles, crochet hooks, and cotton thread. My newest passion involves cardstock, tissue paper, masking tape, and glue. I’ve crafted dragons, unicorns, dolphins, and seahorses. It can take up to eight hours for each project but I love the end results.

This seahorse is my most challenging faux papermache design to date.
