Yesterday, Wednesday, November 26th was a snowy day. It was the first major snow event of the season. Now I like snow, I just don’t like driving through it when it becomes a whiteout situation. Yesterday was just such a situation. My commute to work was snow falling and blowing so that there were times I could not see the road. Super scary. By my commute home the snow was just a light fall. But the roads were icy. So icy, I couldn’t get traction on a small hill I needed to get up to go home.
Today, I’m thankful that I got home safe and sound. The weather didn’t prevent me from celebrating Thanksgiving with my family. I share a home with my mom and three of my sisters. Today is cold. Our high was 26* F with winds up to 40 miles per hour. So super chilly.
I’m thankful for a house that is 66* F and a warm meal shared with loved ones. My mom’s scare earlier this year (stroke and possible cancer) has been resolved with few lingering effects. My sister who couldn’t get time off for the holidays is visiting next week.
I’m also thankful for a supportive community when it comes to writing. Without input from these wonderful people my books would not be what they are.
